Write for the people using them
A useful guide answers common decisions: which logo belongs on a dark background, how small type can be, and what to do when a layout does not match an example.
Show the boundaries
Include minimum sizes, clear space, colour values, font licences and accessible colour pairings. Explain exceptions as carefully as the preferred approach.
Keep the system maintainable
Assign a version date and an owner for updates. Store approved assets in an accessible location and remove outdated versions from everyday use. A short, current guide is more useful than an impressive document nobody can find.
